Tres de Mayo

I know it's suppose to be Cinco de Mayo, but we are going to be at my Mom's on Saturday and wont be celebrating it. So I figured we would celebrate a little early! I made taco salads for dinner tonight. We found this shell recipe on Kraft about a year ago, and just love the way they turn out. The recipe on Kraft tells you how to make the whole salad we just add what we want to each of them.

Taco Salads (From: Kraft)

  • flour tortillas (8 inch)

  • cooking spray

Preheat oven to 425°F. Crumple four large sheets of foil to make four 3-inch balls; place on baking sheet. Place 1 tortilla on top of each ball; spray tortilla with cooking spray. Bake 6 to 8 min. or until tortillas are golden brown. (Tortillas will drape over balls as they bake.)

***Tips: We use small bowls that are baking safe and put it down in there with the tin-foil. We also add a little salt to the shells.

I've never thought of making salad bowls like this before. What a great idea! And now there are so many flavored ones, too, like sundried tomato or pesto. More than yum!

Yum, a taco salad sounds really good right about now. I love the way you made the bowls.
